A New Direction For Moonauts?

(Again none of this is in the live version of Itch.io.. and may not be until I finalise the new direction I'm going in!)

So I decided that I felt like I was stagnating on the game, I wasn't too sure of the game's final goal and the gameplay loop wasn't doing it for me, so I think I'm going to aim toward making it more combat-orientated or even a Rogue-Lite/Light!

And as is typical for me, when I decide to focus more on game mechanics and not art.. I focus on the art :P

I made some textures for the asteroid terrain:



And added a day/night cycle complete with fireflies!



Not satisfied with improving the visuals this much already, I decided to work out how to do reflections and ripples:

I'll then decided maybe it was time to add a mechanic to this blank slate of a game (I started all over again, AGAIN!)
So here's me trying to wrangle those pesky carrots!

I also improved upon the night phase by adding darker darkness and actual working light around the fireflies!
